1 How do I post an ad on Sellit?

 
Posting an ad on Sellit.lk is quick, extremely easy and absolutely free! Simply click the yellow Post Ad button in the upper right-hand corner of your browser or the bottom of the Home page of the website and follow the instructions on the page. • We will send you an email confirmation once we have reviewed your ad and approved it for display on the website. This usually takes about 1 hour during office hours.
 
If you are logged in to your account, your details will be filled in for you automatically.
 

2. How do I delete my ad?

 
To delete an ad, please go to your ad's page and click the "Delete ad" button at the bottom of the ad.
 
If you have an account, you can also log in and click the "Delete" button on your "My Current Ads" page.
 

 

3. How do I edit my ad?

To edit an advertisement, please go to your ad's page and click the "Edit ad" button at the bottom of the ad.
 
If you have an account, you can also log in and click the "Edit" button on your "My Current ads" page.
 

4. How do I set a new password for my ad?

• If you would like to set a new password, go to your current advertisement and click the "Edit” link at the bottom of the ad. Click on the link that says "Lost your password?" and follow the instructions.
 
• If you are an account owner, your ads are posted with your account password. To change the account password, go to your account's "Settings" page.
 

5. How long do ads stay on Sellit.lk?

 
Ads appear for 100 days, unless you manually delete them which you can do by going to your profile
 

6. I posted an ad on sellit.lk but I can't find it. Where has it disappeared to?

 
• All of the ads posted on Sellit.lk are reviewed against fraud and spam so it can take up to 1 hour before an ad is published on the website. If you still can't find your ad after 1 hour, it could be disapproved due to violation of one of our terms & conditions related to our posting rules. If your ad was not approved, you should have received an email explaining the reasons why it was not approved.
 
• If you have been waiting longer than 24 hours for a response from us, you may have given us the wrong email address when you posted the ad. Try posting again or contact us using the support email address support@sellit.lk
 
• If you are an account owner, your ads that are currently under review are listed on your "My Current ads" page, in the "My ads on review" section.

 

7. Why has my ad been rejected?

 
All of the ads posted on the site are manually reviewed by one of our employees to check if the advertisement meets our post regulations. - If your ad violates our posting rules it will be rejected. You can read what changes you have to make before the ad can be approved again, through an email we have already sent you. Please re-check your email account.
8. I'm getting contacted about an ad I didn't post. Can you help me?
Please contact us right away and we will help you right away.
9. I haven't received any responses to my ad yet? What can I do?
We strongly recommend that you write a good title and a detailed description about the product you are trying to sell, and use original clear images in your ad when posting. 10. How does the site make money if the services are offered free?
The service of selling and buying will ALWAYS be FREE on Sellit.lk. We will be adding paid featuring and related advertisements to the website in the future as we start monetizing the website.
11. What are the Posting rules for posting on Sellit.lk?
The main reasons for rejection are listed below (but are not limited to), We don't permit ads that contain: , an item or service that is illegal in Sri Lanka, an item or service that is not located within Sri Lanka ,an invalid phone number or email address ,an unrealistic offer, offensive language, offensive photos, text in the title or description that is not related to the advertised item or service, pictures that do not match or clearly show the advertised item or service, a non-specific item or service, e.g. a description of a company in general terms , a URL link that is not relevant to the advertised item or service, offers and requests for items or services in the same ad , the same content as another live ad, or the same content as another ad that was posted within the last 48 hours , multiple items in the same ad ,“Service" jobs.
12. How do I sign up for a user account on Sellit.lk? Is it free?
• Signing up for an account on Sellit.lk is, easy and absolutely free! You can either go to the Sign up page and fill out your details, or you can create an account automatically by posting an ad and selecting the "Create an account" checkbox on the Preview your ad page.
• Once you have signed up, a link will be sent to your email with instructions on how to activate your account.
13. How do I login and logout of my Sellit.lk account?
• To login to your account, simply go to the Login page in Homepage or by clicking the Login button on the right hand side top of any page, and enter your email and account password.
• To log out of your account, simply click the "Log out" link in the top right.
14. How do I change my account details?
To change your name, phone number or password, or to add an address or location (optional), go to your account's "Settings" page. Please note that the email address for your account cannot be changed for any reason after your account has been activated.
15. Why can’t I login to my account?
If you are having trouble logging in to your account, please check that you have: 
- signed up for an account 
- activated the account via the activation link sent to your email 
- entered the correct email address and password on the log in page.

1. How to read in Sinhala and Tamil? Sellit.lk uses Unicode Fonts to display Sinhala and Tamil text. If you are using Windows XP or an earlier version, you may need to set up Unicode support in order to view our Sinhala or Tamil site. Follow the instructions below. 
 
Step 1: Get Sinhala / Tamil Unicode support system - Follow these instructions to install Sinhala Unicode support here.

- For some mobile phone users, it may be possible to obtain a Sinhala or Tamil keyboard through a Smartphone app.
